Planning a Family Trip I have been elected to plan a family trip to Ireland this summer. Our group ranges in age from 38-66, and possesses varying degrees of physical fitness. While I prefer independent travel, we have a few worry-worts in the group who would be extremely nervous if we try to do a self-drive trip. That said, do you have any recommendations for tour operators and/or travel agents who offer quality chauffer-driven or escorted tours? And what is your opinion of the chauffer-drive option for Ireland?
First, how many people are in your family group? How long will you have in Ireland? Those things will make a difference as to what I would suggest for you. Get back to me and I will be happy to help.

Family Size Thanks, Michele.
We are still sorting things out, but it looks like we will be 4-6 travelers on a 10-12 day trip.
Using a chauffeur to take you around Ireland is a lot more expensive than driving yourselves (as you have probably already figured out). It might actually be more cost-effective to take an organized tour. But why don't you look into both options, weigh the costs and then make an informed decision as to what is best for all?
I highly recommend 1 2 Travel in Ireland. You can click here to visit their site: 1 2 Travel Please mention IrelandYes.com as they always give members of my forum extra special care and service. They will be able to give you quotes for chauffeurs.
If you decide that you want to take an organized tour, just let me know. I have a free tour finding service that I am offering this year. You just fill out a short questionnaire that I analyze so I can find just the right tour for you. Since I am familiar with the different tours this will save a lot of time and trouble trying to find the best one on your own.
