Connemara day trip

Michelle,

We have ordered your book and are anxiously awaiting it's arrival. We plan to take a day trip from Galway through Connemara. I understand the cliften area is very beautiful. We will have my parents with us (in their 70's) so hiking and extensive walking are not options. Can you let us know what sites are must see's for this trip.

We thought we would drive to Clifden then see Kylemore Abbey. What else would you recommend. Unfortunately we will only have one day to complete this trip so we want to make it worthwhile.

Hi dfs,

Once my book arrives you will be well-equipped to plan your day in Connemara. The following places are well worth visiting:

Clifden
Sky Drive (nr. Clifden)
Roundstone & Dog's Bay (scenic drive & village)
Kylemore Abbey & Gardens
Boat ride on Killary Harbor
Cong (Quiet Man town)
Cong Abbey
Ashford Castle grounds

I would only recommend Sky Drive, Dog's Bay and the boat ride if the weather is good.
