Detailed Itinerary

Hi Michele and Friends:
We have our accommodations and general itinerary set, but now I am trying to decide what we're going to do each day during our June trip. Can you take a look and let me know if we're trying to pack too much in? We're a group of 5 adults (ages 38-66) and have hired a van and driver. Here goes:

Thursday, June 10
Depart USA

Friday, June 11
Arrive Dublin early a.m.
Hop-on, Hop-off City Bus Tour, Guinness Storehouse

Saturday, June 12
Trinity College (Book of Kells), Grafton Street, Temple Bar

Sunday, June 13
Depart Dublin for Kinsale
See Powerscourt House & Gardens, Glendalough and Cobh Heritage Center on the way.
Overnight Kinsale

Monday, June 14
Kinsale Harbor/Charles Fort, Blarney Castle and Woollen Mills
Overnight Killarney

Tuesday, June 15
Ring of Kerry, Muckross House, Ross Castle, Kenmare
Overnight Killarney

Wednesday, June 16
Dingle Peninsula, Dingle (maybe harbor cruise) or Killarney National Park
Overnight Killarney

Thursday, June 17
Ferry across Shannon, Cliffs of Moher, Galway Crystal Factory
Overnight Galway

Friday, June 18
Connemara, Kylemore Abbey, Clifden, maybe Cong
Overnight Galway

Saturday, June 19
Adare, Bunratty Castle and Folk Park
Overnight Bunratty

Sunday, June 20
Depart Shannon Airport

Thanks for your help!

Dawn

Re: Detailed Itinerary

Hi Dawn,

On the whole it looks very good. Since you have a chauffeur you can sit back, relax and enjoy the scenery. You will also be in Ireland when daylight lasts till 11! I will comment below:

Thursday, June 10
Depart USA

Friday, June 11
Arrive Dublin early a.m.
Hop-on, Hop-off City Bus Tour, Guinness Storehouse. Michele's Answer: * Fine.

Saturday, June 12
Trinity College (Book of Kells), Grafton Street, Temple Bar. Michele's Answer: * Fine.

Sunday, June 13
Depart Dublin for Kinsale
See Powerscourt House & Gardens, Glendalough and Cobh Heritage Center on the way.
Overnight Kinsale. Michele's Answer: * This is a long day and I would suggest an early start. If you can arrive at Powerscourt when it opens you should be able to see and do the rest. You can easily spend hours at each stop so it might be good for everyone to meet at a certain spot at a certain time at each attraction in case the group gets separated.

Monday, June 14
Kinsale Harbor/Charles Fort, Blarney Castle and Woollen Mills
Overnight Killarney. Michele's Answer: * Fine.

Tuesday, June 15
Ring of Kerry, Muckross House, Ross Castle, Kenmare
Overnight Killarney. Michele's Answer: * Fine. Since much of the Ring of Kerry is scenic you may want to do Muckross House and Ross Castle first thing in the morning. Since daylight lasts so long you can save the drive for later.

Wednesday, June 16
Dingle Peninsula, Dingle (maybe harbor cruise) or Killarney National Park
Overnight Killarney. Michele's Answer: * If the weather is good do Dingle!

Thursday, June 17
Ferry across Shannon, Cliffs of Moher, Galway Crystal Factory
Overnight Galway. Michele's Answer: * Fine.

Friday, June 18
Connemara, Kylemore Abbey, Clifden, maybe Cong
Overnight Galway. Michele's Answer: * A long but enjoyable day. If you route yourselves correctly you can take in Cong too.

Saturday, June 19
Adare, Bunratty Castle and Folk Park
Overnight Bunratty. Michele's Answer: * Fine.

I think you will have a wonderful time touring around Ireland and hitting the highlights. We would very much enjoy hearing how your trip goes (and especially how the driver works out). Enjoy!

Michele
