Has anyone been on the Dolphin boat rides?

Michelle,
We had to change our itinerary a little as we found out that we can't go to the Bunratty Corn barn on the night we had planned. So with a whole day available now, we thought maybe a boat ride out of Kilrush might be the thing to do.

Have you or anyone else for that matter, ever been on the boat ride and did you see any dolphins?

The rest of the day we'll spend in Kilkee, Carrigaholt and Loop Head. We have to get another picture of our kids on the gigantic anchor of the Kilkee bay. The 1998 one turned out great, but now we have one more child. So we need a sequel!

Let me know about the boat ride!
Thanks so much!
Val

Dolphin Cruise

Val,

I haven't done the dolphin watching cruise but they have a website and you can email them for more info. I am out of my office at the moment so don't have my bookmarks handy but if you Google the key words you will find their site. I have seen dolphins before on the coast of Ireland when I was doing the cliff walk at Ballybunion, so they are out there. Also, depending on time of year you may see whales and seals, among others.

Sounds like a fun alternative to Traditional Irish Night at Bunratty. Have fun!

Re: Dolphin Cruise

Oh, we're still doing the Traditional Irish night, but on the first night there now! I'll be able to nap on the plane as will the kids, but my husband can't sleep on airplanes. Maybe he'll get a quick nap at the cottage before we go. Otherwise the lively music and dancing should perk us right up as well as the walks around the folk park.

It was a lot easier calling overseas than I thought it would be too! I knew I wouldn't be able to fax my reservation over, but figured out my calling card and dove in.

I found the discoverdolphins.ie website and it looks very interesting. Just curious if anyone had actually gone on one before. I know my kids would love seeing a dolphin up close. My 10 year old wants to know if she'll be able to touch one, but I doubt it.

I have a coupon in my Coupon Pack for 2 euro off (per adult) for the dolphin cruise from Kilrush or 10% discount for the one going from Carrigaholt. Also 10% off Traditional Irish Night! Also ask about a family package at Irish Night.

Thanks for telling me about the coupons in your book! I've got it but must have gone past those pages!
