Tipping B&B owners

Just one more question ... at least for today.

I generally like to leave a tip at the end of a hotel stay. Does one usually tip the B&B owners? Especially if the stay was nice, I'd like to leave a little something but definitely don't want to offend anyone.

Thanks for the prompt responses to my other questions. As the trip gets closer, I'll probably have thousands more!

If it is a family operated B&B, I usually take a small gift (ie. being from Texas, I usually take a jar of jalapeno jelly or a jar of pecan pie filling).

jojo,

Unless the B&B has a staff (most don't) you usually don't tip. If you have extraordinary service you can certainly leave a little gift. Or you can send a thank you card after your trip. Another nice thing to do for extra special care is to nominate the B&B for an award. You can do it through this web site: www.irishwelcomeawards.com/

You can also nominate people who help with your travel, trip, etc. in any way not just B&B owners.
