Nan,

Sorry, I don't know of either of those places. Balla is a bit remote. The nearest good size towns are Castlebar, Claremorris and Knock. I know of a nice B&B and a guesthouse in Westport, which is about 45 minutes away. Would you be interested in them?

Michele,
I booked rooms at The Moat in Balla, I know it is remote but we are visiting friends of the couple that are with us and they live in Balla. I spoke with the owner of the BB today and she said it was 85 degrees there today. Can this be right?

Nan,

They are having a heat wave! Yes it can get up to 85 in Ireland but it rarely happens. Guess you should take your sunscreen. Actually, I saw on TV that the sunscreen sold in Europe has an ingredient not available in the USA and is much more effective. I am planning on stocking up next time.
