Hotels in Dublin

Leaving on Wednesday for Ireland, our last 3 days will be spent in Dublin, does anyone have any suggestions to hotels that they liked. We will be visiting Trinity College, pubs and maybe distillery.
Thanks

Re: Hotels in Dublin

Nan,

Jury's Christchurch is a favorite for those who don't want to spend a lot of money yet want access to the city center. It is a generic hotel and nothing fancy but might suit you. I have some recommendations on my "Lodgings" page. Some others that get good feedback: Glenogra & Trinity Lodge.

Have a great trip and let us know how things go for you.

Dublin hotels

Assuming we choose one of the mentioned hotels in Dublin, are there shuttles from the airport?? Or do we plan on a cab??

Re: Dublin hotels

Irisheyes,

I suppose it depends on how many people are traveling together, how much luggage you have, etc. You can take a taxi or get public transportation into town. Take a look at the following links:

Dublin Hotels

At least one of the hotels mentioned in this thread was mentioned in a national travel magazine recently. It's a bummer because they were already SOLD OUT when I checked online for prospective dates - and I was flexible! Which just goes to show, when you're good and reasonable, people tend to find out....

Dublin Hotels

Irisheyes,

Keep trying. Go to www.irelandhotels.com and browse around their site. Also, hotels constantly get cancelations. You might keep looking at the one that is full because rooms may become available.

hotels

Thank you Michele for the info. I'm so confused on the prices. Are they per person like the B&B's or per room like the U.S.??

Price Confusion

Irisheyes,

It is confusing. Some hotels have "room rates" while others charge per person. If you see the initials pps then it means "per person sharing". That means if two people are sharing a room you double whatever the pps price is. If you are unsure it is always best to contact the hotel for more info.
