Walking Kilkenny Tour Testers Wanted I've finally finished my self-guided walking tour of Kilkenny, and I'm looking for some folks to help test it out.
If you plan to visit Kilkenny some time in 2005, please drop me a line. All I ask is that you spend at least one hour on the tour route, fill out a feedback form and send it back in the self-addressed stamped envelope provided.
The tour is designed to take you to all the major sites in Kilkenny, as well as many off-the-beaten-path spots. It includes photos, descriptions, maps and stories related to the sites and gives some background on Ireland's “medieval capital.”
Send an inquiry to yesiree100@hotmail.com and provide: - Your full name - Mailing address - Email address - Date you plan to be in Ireland
Your walking tour sounds intriguing. I hope that some people here will take you up on it and give you the feedback you want. I won't be in Kilkenny again till the autumn but there are plenty of others going much sooner who may enjoy it. Kilkenny is my favorite Irish city.
Re: Killarney Walking Tour Hi Yesiree, We'll be in Kilkenny in 4 1/2 weeks!!! I can't wait to get on Irish soil again! We'll be staying in a B&B on the outskirts of Kilkenny for one night and may have some time the next morning before heading out. I may be able to talk my husband into an hour walk... Let me try it out. Thanks! Val email me at valerie@irishinterests.com
Thanks very much for sending me the Kilkenny Walking Tour. I am looking forward to trying it next time I'm in Ireland. It is very professionally done. Are you thinking of marketing the brochures?

Re: Walking Kilkenny Tour Testers Wanted Thanks, Michele. I'm not sure what I'll end up doing with the walking tour. Right now I'm just trying my hand at this sort of thing and working on mastering my craft. In the meantime, I'm putting it out there for family and friends to enjoy and critique.
As for it's look, I'm a writer/graphic designer by trade (for a museum), so combining words and pictures is my forte...combine that with a passion for travel and touring and everything seems to come together for me in creating walking tours.
Hope you and the other members I've sent Walking Kilkenny out to enjoy it. Kilkenny is probably my favorite Irish town as well, so it is a pleasure to share some of its secrets.
Re: Walking Kilkenny Tour Testers Wanted Yesiree, I got your walking tour yesterday! And you're right! I got Killarney and Kilkenny mixed up. (That would throw a wrench in our itinerary!) We'll be in Killarney. Got any walking tours of that? Thank you anyway, we'll save the tour for our next trip. Val

Re: Walking Kilkenny Tour Testers Wanted It's an easy mistake to make...I had a vision of you trying to orient yourself in Killarney with my map of Kilkenny. You'd be thinking to yourself, "this guy and his tour are nuts."
Have a great trip, and definitely put Kilkenny on your itinerary for you next visit.
FYI - the 'kil' or "cill" in Kilkenny/Killarney/Kildare/etc comes from the Irish word for Church (Church of Kenny (or Canice) and Church of Airne...etc).

Walking Kilkenny Tour Testers Wanted Hey Corey, Thanks for the walking tour. It's a very attractive pamplet with lots of information, pretty pictures, and great maps. I doubt we'll be getting lost in Kilkenny! We're happy to be among your "tour testers."
You will have to let us know how you enjoyed the tour when you return.

Re: Walking Kilkenny Tour Testers Wanted Vicki - Glad you're looking forward the walking tour. I'm looking forward to your feedback.
Michele - Thank you so much for suggesting the Kilkenny tour to people. There are six groups testing it this month and a few more in July and Sept. Let me show my appreciation for your referrals by continuing to offer my "two cents" on this forum whenever possible.
I am delighted to hear that the walking tour is taking off. There is nothing like "word of mouth" to get the ball rolling. Soon you should have the feedback you are looking for. As you know, you are a valued member of the IrelandYes community. Please feel free to add your "two cents" any time at all. Your input is always very much appreciated and right on target.

Re: Walking Kilkenny Tour Testers Wanted You'll have a chance to take in a good part of the walking tour in an hour. However, if you plan to visit the castle, that would take about an hour of your visit.
How about I send you a copy, and you can see what you have time for. If nothing else, the tour booklet might help you decide what sites you want to see in the time you are there.

Kilkenny walking tour -- IT WAS GREAT! Thank you! So I just got back from Ireland and had a wonderful trip... I'll make sure to write a more indepth post once I have more time, but I wanted to quickly say thank you for the wonderful self guided walking tour... I haven't returned the form yet, but I will I promise...
We were only in Kilkenny for one night passing through and your guide was a perfect introduction to the city. We spent maybe 2-3 hours on the tour the afternoon we arrived, then I took other pieces of the tour that I wasn't able to get to the next morning...
I'd say we did about 75/80% of the walking tour and it was both very informative and straightforward. It added so much to our quick stop in Kilkenny and I can't thank you enough!
