Bob, we will be taking Ireland by storm from both coasts, it would seem. We arrive in Dublin on June 12th and out Dublin on June 25th, a day ahead of you. One of these trips, we will manage to meet up for a pint!
Tony, careful with that..we will be passing through Portumna on June 20th, doing the Lough Derg drive.
We just found out that the Maternal lines trace back to Ballycunneen house in Sixmilebridge so it will make for a full, fun day.
Judy, make sure ya leave teh welcome mat out, as I think there are a few headed over in July, as well
Wife and I arrive on June 24th leaving July 5th (both Shannon). My 4th trip since 2004. My wife grew up spending every summer in Ireland with her grandparents. This will be the first trip for our 23 month old. Wish me luck as traveling with her will be a different experience!
Our dates are June 16-30. In and out of Shannon. My wife is forgoing family visits as she is returning July 28-August 12 with her sister for all family time. We are in Salthill June 17-23, Westport June 23-28, and Killaloe June 28-30.
Heh. And we are going for the first time, arriving on June 18, leaving on July 5th. In/out of Dublin. If you see three adults and a two-year old looking lost, that's probably going to be us.
Bit, give a wave to Mount Shannon, Portumna, and Ballina for us! Lough Derg is our usual stomping ground for our Ireland trips (for at least one week of each trip). But this time, we're all Ulster and very excited to finally visit some places we've been wanting to see!
Anyone else visiting the north? Lunch in Derry? Dinner in Belfast?
I just received a replacement debit card I requested as the old one was getting hard to use. Always have a couple credit cards as backup and the World Mastercard for car rental purposes. Got all B&B confirmations back- it sounds like they've been having wet weather. We've had a lot of the same in Virginia this past week- good preparation. I pulled out my prep list from the last trip and I keep editing for this one.
Been a bit damp over there for the last couple of weeks and typical with a couple of days of good weather I am over here in Southport UK and the grass still hasn't been cut at home. We are promised a good June though.

I searched the topics and didn't locate any discussions on RFID Blocking. While new cards, my debit card for example, is a radio frequency controlled card. These are being promoted as having a higher degree of security, yet I keep reading about how easy it is for the bad guys to steal card information, particularly in airports. So, is this a real or perceived risk and am I being paranoid if I purchase RFID Blocking wallets?
Roy do not put your card down on a shop counter which has security de activation or your card might be wiped clean. I don't know where you might encounter these but B&Q DIY once cleared the information of my bank card because I put it on the counter rather than passing it to the cashier.
I trust a couple of the old farmers for my long range weather predictions it costs them money if they get it wrong.

I just registered our upcoming trip (first time I have done this) through the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program. This is a US Department of State program.
The swifts have hatched their first chicks so they must be planning two lots again. I am sat with the door wedged open letting the soft breeze into the cottage and have only had the fires lit once this month. So just keeping the fingers crossed.
