I can only go off hearsay for the Park but I know the Oakwood is good 90%+ of the time (100% of my personal experience) and whilst I dont use Mother Hubbards being just 30 minutes away, the car park is never empty and the builder we used to use called for his breakfast every day for 3months before he got here (taking the long way round from Galway).

Murphy....Yes we dressed up in the "good old days", but look at all the time we saved not having to past through all that security.
Roy......We are also looking for a breakfast near Shannon for June. There used to be a breakfast buffet overlooking the check-in area at Shannon, but I guest that has gone the way of all the flights into Shannon. The Park Inn advertised a breakfast buffet for non-residents on their web site a few months ago when we were planning, but checking back now, it sounds like they only offer the evening meal to non-residents according to their web site. Have you confirmed they will offer breakfast to non-residents?
Traveling this time with a teenager who is always hungry, we will need a quick breakfast on arrival. We may end up at McDonals on Airport Rd. or the Skycourt Shopping Center at the Food Court.
The good old days of dressing up for a flight. When we traveled on passes (hubby worked for an airline) he had to wear a suit and tie. I had to wear a dress and hose or a pant suit. No denim or jeans or sneakers allowed or they wouldn't let us on the plane. Needless to say, the moment we arrived off came the dress clothes and we put on our comfy jeans, etc. I can't tell you the number of times I have slept at airports for days on end (stuck with full hotels), spent 72 hours flying and making connections with no sleep - zombies!
Now that I'm no longer 20-something I just can't do it.
Roy - When I was recently at Shannon Airport the cafe was open at the airport (second floor overlooking ticket counters).

Judy- I have confirmed that the Park Inn serves breakfast to non-residents. E9.95 for sull breakfast and E6.95 for continental. JThe jury is out on the quality. I do know when I ate at the Oak Wood Arms in 2006 it was a decent breakfast.
Michele.....Thanks for the breakfast information at Shannon. That will be our 1st choice (to keep the teenager happy).
Thanks Roy.....Park Inn will be our 2nd choice if we can hold off the teenager and walk across the parking lot (or leave her there to fend for herself). She's always hungry, but as skinny as a rail. Oh to be a teenager again.
Bit-If you are traveling on the N4 after leaving Dublin airport about an hour away is The Feericks hotel http://www.feericks.ie/index.html .This is our breakfast stop, they do a very good cooked to order Breakfast.
According to Shannon Airport information the Marsh Point Bar above the check in area is only open in the afternoons between 2 & 6. The Segafredo is Airside by US customs and I wouldn't know if US arrivals have access to this. The Atlantic coffee outlet I have already mentioned.

I was at Shannon Airport in the morning (flight at 1:15 pm) and the cafe was open. I don't know the hours and it is self-service. I'm sure a quick email to Shannon Airport will get the current hours. You can always take a look. If it is closed or not what you are looking for walk on by and go to the Oakwood Arms.
Bob,
Ack! It's always something (as Rosanne Rosanadana used to say on Saturday Night Live).
