Airport hotel and 1 day in Dublin

We're flying into Dublin, arriving early in the morning, and I was planning to stay at one of the airport hotels, Bewleys or Premiere Inn maybe, so it would be easy to pick up our rental car at the airport the next morning and head for Northern Ireland. (Since we'll be jet lagged, I didn't want to attempt driving the first day!) We would drop our bags at the hotel, then spend the day in Dublin. My question is, is it difficult to get transportation from one of the aforementioned hotels into the city center?

Leslie,

Probably the easiest thing to do is take the hotel shuttle back to the airport and then one of the airport buses into Dublin. http://www.dublinairport.com/gns/to-from-the-airport/by-bus-or-coach.aspx

From the Premier Inn Swards there are bus's passing on the main road into the city which might give an option rather than back to the airport so ask at reception. Not sure about Bewleys I was unfortunate enough to have a night at their Leopardstown Hotel a number of years back and don't give second chances.

Yes, there is a bus that goes by Premier Inn. However, I also know a B&B on this main road and the host often tells me about how unreliable the bus service on that road is. She sees her guests waiting and waiting for a bus that may come half an hour or an hour after the scheduled times. The bus service from the airport is more reliable.
