Cottage or hotel room

I've been wanting to go to Ireland for 2 years now and I'm finally getting to go this summer! I want to go for the month of June but I don't know where to start, I want a moderate priced trip and I don't know if renting a cottage would be better or getting a hotel room?

Welcome to my forum. How many people are traveling with you? If it is just yourself and no one else I suggest you look to stay at B&Bs, guesthouses and/or hotels.
