I was playing around on kayak.com (ok I do this a lot),putting in random dates .
I first checked end of April (Newark to Dublin) and was seeing prices in the $500 range. Then I checked end of May - first week of June-$505 (all fees and taxes).
We payed $824 for Sept/Oct 2011,I thought I would never see resonable fares again.
I asked my husband if he wanted to spend his birthday in Ireland , and suprise suprise he would like too.
Flying in Shannon on these dates was $487(Dublin works better for us).
How soon should you book your airfare? I've heard different things but I have no idea when it would go up or down. We are flying from TN to Dublin but our return flight would be from Shannon to TN. We will be traveling in May 2012. Any thoughts?

Welcome to my forum. Keep checking on airfares. Susan just got $500 in May on Kayak. So check all the websites, sign up for airline newsletters and check every day. When you see a good fare get it immediately before it disappears.
If you find something reasonable grab it or if you can put a hold on it (Continental lets you lock in a fare for a fee). Our $505 fare is now $893 ,in one week .
