Thanks, Michele. The sites for rentals were for motorcycles. I was interested in scooters to slowly travel around the villages, but nothing else. Just a fun thing.

I don't think you will find scooters. How about bikes?

I have always had day dreams of riding a scooter down a beautiful Irish country road, just me, my bride of 40 years, and the sheep!! A bicycle is too tough on my knees, and my memories of scooters when I was young continue to burn into my visions of past joys. Oh, well. Maybe a local would let me borrow his. If anyone has any other ideas, you would make this 64 year old very happy.

I know it is a romantic idea but Ireland is not Italy with scooters zipping around on all the roads. My husband is a Vespa enthusiast and we rarely see scooters in Ireland. Certainly not ones for rent. I doubt if a local would let you borrow one. Insurance rules are too strict in Ireland for that to happen.

Michele, I fully understand. I was a Vespa man myself. It's hard to shake the feeling.
