Travel Insurance

Hello, All.  I am booked to travel to Ireland for the month of May, 2012.  My cottage rental on the Beara Peninsula is through "Imagine Ireland".  This is a UK-based company. They do not offer travel insurance unless you are a Uk citizen.  My mother has recently been diagnosed with cancer and I am not sure as to her ongoing health status.  So, I am wanting to secure travel insurance in case of an emergency with her.  Can someone please let me know my options for insurance?  Thank you.  JohnT

Probably best to sort travel insurance through a company local to your departure rather than an Irish or UK provider. There should be cancellation insurance provided by Imagine Ireland should you be prevented from arriving on medical grounds. Hope all goes well and treatment is available beforehand.

John,

I'm very sorry to hear about your mother's diagnosis. We will hope everything goes okay. I suggest trying Insure My Trip

Ryan, I appreciate your feedback very much.  I am trying to figure this all out.  It isn't very easy for me.
