I love this travel forum and reading the posts. I've learned so much about planning our trip. We will be making our first trip to Ireland in May. If any of you have recommendations for great pubs/good food, we would love to hear about them. We will be staying in Doolin, Dingle, Kenmare, Cashel, and Bunratty. Thanks so much!
Dublin: Cobblestone in Smithfield; Despite it's reputation for tourism, I've heard great sessions at the Brazen Head and there are certainly locals that hang out there Belfast: The Crown Saloon (because it's really the only one I know, but the interior is beautiful) Ballycastle (NI): The House of McDonnell (established 1766) Western Donegal: I can't remember the village it is officially assigned to, but Leo's Tavern is home to Enya, Clannad & Moya Brennan. Sure they are rarely there but Leo is the patriarch. Westport: Matt Molloy's, The Porter House (right next to each other) Ennis: Cruises Dingle: (Michele is right, great sessions) Kenmare: I don't know why, but I always end up eating at least one meal at O'Donnabhain's Crookhaven: O'Sullivan's (I always visit if I am near - but that's probably an emotional choice on my part)
