New friends, new family, and great memories

Hi, Michele and All,

We are home after a wonderful trip to Ireland.    Now I understand why multiple trips are the norm and the not the exception!     The people, the music, the scenery, the history, the food, and the roads are all cherished memories from our trip.

The highlight was meeting family and seeing the family homestead in County Mayo.   It is nice to have the connection to our family history.   We also made new friends as we travelled.

Thanks to everyone on the forum who helped make our dream trip a reality.    Our accomodations were lovely, the sights we did see were interesting and full of history and the food and the music were wonderful.     And it is very true that you do not travel to Ireland for the weather.     We had rain, sleet, hail, rain,  slush, rain, wind, rain, cold, and more rain.   We did have one day of sunshine, but it was cold and windy.    But it really didn't matter or slow us (except for the sleet and the hail :)

We are only sorry we had to come home!    Diane

Diane,

Welcome home. We were happy to help with advice. Wow - the weather sounds dreadful. But the Irish people always seem to make up for any deficits. I'm so glad you made your family connection. We would love to hear more details if you have the time for a Trip Report.

Has Ireland hooked you?

Michele
