We are looking to travel to Dublin in either December or around March. I have read on some other sites that several sights are closed in March for upgrades or maintanance or whatever reason. Is this true?? We are into history and plan on spending most of our time in Dublin area. Thankyou
Welcome to my forum. A lot of sightseeing closes in the off-season generally starting in October through Easter. However, Dublin is one place where most things will be open off-season. If you have some specifics in mind it would be wise to Google them for opening times to see if you can visit them. Around the end of December through New Year many things close for the holidays. So if you will be in Dublin then you will have less to choose from. March would be my preference.
I would second March, The Irish tourist season runs mainly from St Pat's to the end of September. You also have a chance of slightly better weather in March although unless the snow comes like 2008/2010 the weather makes little difference in Dublin.
