Bunratty Medieval Fest

I can't seem to find "RECENT" posts or reviews on the Medieval dinner at the castle.  We have the time to  book one and wondered other's opinions.  Thanks

This is a "How the tourist thinks medieval Irish were" Its a bit of fun, an expensive bit of fun but that's it. Been there done that won't do it again but you haven't.

Just to edit rather than run on..I would second Micheles sugestion as Dunguaire Castle being a more intimate and more recent theme show but not sure if open for your dates?

I have been to all the banquets and Irish Night in the corn barn. My favorite is Dunguaire Castle because it is much smaller and more intimate. They are all fun, the food is decent and you get a meal and good entertainment. Plus if you go for the castle banquet you are dining in a genuine castle, which we have a shortage of in the US. How often do you get to have dinner in a castle? It is unique.

Appreciate the comments, and have looked at both Medieval Fest's web sites.  It appears, that the Bunratty has a more music entertainment theme, and the Dunguaire, unless I'm reading it worng, does more literature readings with some music.  The other difference is the number of reservations each accepts, and we'd prefer the smaller group, but also, would enjoy a more lively entertainment.  Please correct me if I'm wrong.  I think both would be open when we go and neither out of the way as we'll be leaving Dingle and heading to Galway.  (However, we will have to cut a day from our drive to accomodate this stop).  Thanks again.

Sue,

Bunratty is more music oriented with a larger "cast of characters". Go for the Bunratty banquet. The Irish Night in the Corn Barn is also fun but not in the castle.

Tony,

Your comment, "been there, done that, and won't do it again", reminds me of us driving to Kansas to see the World's Biggest Ball of Twine.  But we still laught about that experience.

Thanks
