I'm Just Back From Ireland

Hi All,

I am just back from Ireland and will get down to answering all your questions as the jet-lag allows. Weather was iffy. Hubby had a not so stellar stay at a Belfast hospital. furious The find of the trip was Henry's B&B. biggrin More later.

Thanks Tony. Hubby is feeling better now. First he had a cold for the whole trip, which he kindly shared with me. Then he got a concussion. We managed to survive the trip and get in a few moments of enjoyment.

Michele:

Best regards on returning home. Hope you still were able to enjoy the trip.  Had to be a challenge to have your husband battling a concussion, and I have had a stiffling cold when I have been in Ireland before and that is no fun at all!

Let know where all you were during the trip when you get your legs under you from the travel.smile

My husband fell at the Giant's Causeway and hit his head. The mountain rescue guys were great and really knew what they were doing. The ambulance and emergency room visit was free but they charge for an overnight hospital stay and scans. Although the scans cost a whole lot less than in the USA.

You never know what will happen. Always check on your insurance before leaving for a trip.

Had to be frightening.  Glad he is OK and that he received good care.

In the knowledge that all went well my comment on the Causeway would be that I hope you avoided the £8 each admission. The NHS (UK health service) gets some stick on many grounds but they are generally a great set of people when things go wrong in an emergency. Thanks for the thoughts on Mountain Rescue volunteers.

Sorry to hear about your hubby Michele. I'm glad he is going to be OK. Now you can add other twist to your service and add health care. But please don't make it a habit trying out their healthcare.

Sorry to hear about the Mr. I can sympathize, having suffered a few, lesser injuries myself, in Ireland, over the years.

Seems like we were Ships Passing In The Night.  We spent the nights of 4-5 October in Carlingford.

Have had a remarkable visit, so far.  Off to Sligo tomorrow for the SligoLive Festival and our Sunday night 'Visit' with Van THE Man ...  biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin

Both the Caines and Bernie at Aboccuragh remembered you fondly and returned you regards, as delivered by me.

Thanks Bob. Hope you enjoyed Abocurragh. The last time I stayed there was the night before 9-11. Must get back as she has redecorated her house since then.
