Ennis B&B

Has anyone stayed at Grey Gables B&B in Ennis?  I like the location -- real close to town center -- but would enjoy any first-hand account from someone who has stayed there.

Thanks!

We use the Gables on a regular basis and always used to recommend the place. There have been a couple of bad reviews on TA from people I have pointed there about Mary being Off, never experienced here anything but extremely pleasant? some thing about a smell outside the rooms? I can only go by our own experiences and those of our guests who have been there with us, The Dining room is small so you have to give a time for Breakfast and the coffee facilities are communal but those are my only two moans. The location cannot be beaten, the price is good the rooms comfortable and no complaints about breakfast, we will be staying there in May at some point during the Fledh. That's about all I can say about the place apart from finding out that St Richard of Steves recommends the place which would have put me off had I known that for the past 5 years or so,

We tried to book at Gray Gables in Ennis back in 08, but it was full. Ended up at Sleepy Hollow, not quite as close in but still a manageable 10-12 minute walk downtown. It is located in the south part of town, just a block or 2 from a petrol station where we gased the rental car just prior to the 10-15 minute drive to SNN. If you can't get into the Gables, Sleepy Hollow is very nice and we wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Brogans is our local for food drink and music but depending on the night there will be a couple of options, give me a reminder nearer the time and I will have a check.

The Old Ground Hotel and Temple Gate are nice. Sometimes they have special rates.

I stayed at Temple Gate and the location is superb. The food downstairs was great and the rooms were fine. Don't really remember the rooms as it was our first place and jet lag was keeping me in a fog...but I do remember the restaurant and beer downstairs very well (or maybe the beer put me in a fog) ;)! Either way it's a nice place.

Hi Geno-I've stayed at the Temple Gate and it was great. Great location. Met the women who had just purchased Old Ground with her husband (a few years ago) and she was very pleasant. Wonder if "Town Hall" is still there??? Food was great! Miss our old site and can't figure out how to ask a question on this site. I'm taking my 18 year old granddaughter to Ireland the end of May into June and looking for suggestions on how to entertain her. We are planning to stay in the West/South West. Any ideas?
