Welcome to my forum. Thanks for ordering my book. I have your book order on "hold" for the 2013 edition. I'll let you know when it is mailed.
Try Iorras in Sligo. They have a family room and a twin (as well as doubles). Ita is a lovely host and her breakfast can't be beat. Nice clean, cozy B&B. Be sure to mention that I sent you.
What sorts of activities are your kids interested in?
I am taking my family to Ireland in July, which is a first time trip for all of us. We are staying in Dublin 1 night then driving to Sligo/Tobercurry/Aclare area for 3 nights as that is the area that my husbands great grandmother came from and I wanted my kids especially, (14 yr old daughter and 12 yr old son), to feel connected with their heritage. I want to stay in a B&B, as I think it provides a more intimate experience. I think I would go nuts sleeping in a double bed with my hubby, as I am used to a king bed at home. I am guessing I will probably have to book 2 twin rooms but most of the B&B's I've looked at only have 1 twin room. Can anyone recommend a nice place to stay in that area that might have 2 rooms with 2 beds each (or the rare Irish King size bed in a room?) I suppose we could also look to stay in Co. Mayo, as it's close to the area we want to explore as well. We will be heading down to Adare for 6 nights after our time in County Sligo but have a place to stay there already. If you feel there are definite must see's in Sligo/Mayo area for kids that age, suggest away. I've ordered your book but decided to wait for the new version in March. Thanks for any suggestions you can provide as a start for us.
