I'm frustrared this year with travel planning. As Michele has noted elsewhere, costs associated the The Gathering are higher than identical events. I have typically already booked airfare by now for June/July travel, but fares have been much higher than the past two years. Aer Lingus posted "summer sale" prices yesterday, but they are identical to what the prices have been for the past 3-4 weeks. So much for a "sale." There's my vent.
The spring sale ended yesterday hence the summer sale..I got a great deal offer from Stena line ferries who I use on a regular basis last month 5 hours before the deadline! If you plan on using Budget for your rental car their new 10% discount code has just been released.

I'm doing very little booking until I secure airfare and have travel dates det in stone. The only booking I have is for Glasson Stone Lodge B&B outside Athlone where my wife's family will be having a reunion 13 July. Tony- you had asked me to provide some feedback on our stay in Youghal, but I can't seem to locate the post. If you can guide me a little, I'd be glad to respond.
I just got an email for this from Aer Lingus, and checked out fares for my November trip - and they are the lowest I've seen. It was around $750, PIT to DUB... now they are $624 PIT to DUB. I usually wouldn't expect fares this low this early. I'll still wait until about August to be ready to fly. Could they go lower? We shall see! I've never researched November fares before, so don't know what they normally are. Any clues?
