First I would like to thank everyone on this site. I have asked a few questions and been doing research for months On this site. Michele I purchased your book and it was also extremely helpful. they have both really been a valuable resource for me. I even opened a new account at a local bank with a visa/debit card with Plus on the back because of the ATM information on the site As mine didn't have Plus or Cirrus. Although, with all my research I am still worried about getting on the right bus from the airport to get to the hotel and of course customs for the first time. But, it will all be part of our adventure.
We leave for Ireland on April 4th and are staying for eight days. I have included the sites we are planning on seeing and would appreciate any advise on any must sees that we have not thought of or ones we have on our list that we should remove.
Because this trip is my 22-year-old daughters idea we are staying in Dublin for our entire trip. We are staying at the Ashling Hotel. We want to have a relaxed trip of sightseeing around Dublin, but take some day trips to see the countryside also. We are also planning on purchasing the HOHO pass.
Here are the sites in Dublin we are planning on seeing:
Book of Kells
St Patricks Cathedral
Malahide Castle
Dublin Castle
Trinity College
Kilmainham Goal
Crypts of St Michan's
Guiness and Jameison breweries
Glasnevin Cemetery
National Museums
Parks
Shopping
Pub crawl
i also found a free where hour walking tour through Dublin. The company is called Sandmanns New Dublin Tours. Has anyone went on this tour before?
Guided Day trips:
1. Wicklow Mountain, powerscourt and Glendalough
2. Cliffs of Moher, the Burren, and Galway Bay
3. Ring of Kerry
We are planning on traveling on our own by rail (or trying to figure it out) or bus to:
1. Bru na Boinne
2. Drogheda
3. Howth Harbor
4. Killarney
Thank you again for all of the wonderful information on this site,
That is probably too much to fit into 8 days. However, you can wing it and decide what to do each day. You may want to get Mary Gibbons tour to Bru na Boinne rather than try to do it on your own. It includes other sites too: www.newgrangetours.com
You can get DART to Howth and Malahide.
If you get the green Ho-Ho bus the pass is good for 48 hours.

We would love to hear how you and your daughter enjoy Ireland.
Thanks, Michele. I was afraid we had quite a bit on our list. I will post how our trip went when we return. We are very excited. We leave a week from today.
