We will be on a tour this summer starting in Dublin and ending in Shannon. Any recommendations on how we get back to Dublin from Shannon for our flight....by train? First trip to Ireland and getting excited.
A ticket pre-purchased Online will save you substantially. You can buy them on the Irish Rail website, using the link that Michele provided. They can be purchased up to 28 days prior, or as late as the night before -- but, generally, the earlier you buy, the cheaper they are. Select the 'Pick Up at Station' option and they'll give you a Confirmation code. Either present that at the ticket counter, or enter the number into the kiosk ticket machine to collect your tickets.
Thanks for the info Michelle. We are traveling with Tauck and the tour ends in Shannon. They provide transfers to Shannon airport, not back to Dublin. We are staying with relatives in Dublin; otherwise we would fly out of Shannon. Approximately how much is the taxi fare from Shann
Where is the last night stay? If you are in Limerick then just get the train if you are in Bunratty or Shannon just get the bus to Limerick (bus and train in same location). Not sure if you can pre book Limerick to Dublin tickets?

Okay. The tour ends in Shannon and you have to get to Dublin. Any of the links provided will help. You need to determine if you want to take a taxi and train or a bus. Will your relatives pick you up in Dublin?
Thanks for all of the great info. This is very helpful....great forum. I will pre purchase the rail TKTS and sun transfer sounds like a nice way to travel from Shannon-Limerick. Just have to make sure we can make the train in time.
There are some commuter routes you can not always pre book, Like Dublin to Galway.. hence the ? behind my comment above.
Just done a Dummy booking for Limerick to Dublin in a couple of days and yes you can pre book E24.99 so just look again within a few weeks of requirement.
