Hi!


     Since I last wrote for advice there have been some changes in our itinerary.  We are still arriving in Shannon and staying the first night.  We then plan on driving to Killarney.  According to my info this should take about 2 hours.  Do you agree?  Is there anything along the way that we should not miss stopping to visit?  We have yet to make reservations in Killarney but am waiting for Michele's book.  A check of Trip Advisor suggests Ross Castle Lodge, Abbey Lodge and Chelmsford House... the Headley Court website refers the reader to the Shraheen House. Any opinions?  I have no idea how accurate Trip Advisor is.


    After Killarney we are off to Dingle which appears to be a trip of about 2-2 1/2 hours.  Yes or No?  I would like to stay at Heatons or perhaps Greenmount but does someone want to suggest another possibility or two?  We are staying for two nights.


   The next part of the trip is where I really need some input.  We have decided to go towards the Cliffs for the last part of the trip.  Is it really about 2 hours from Dingle to the ferry crossing?  Maybe we should plan to stay overnight in Tarbert in case we are not done exploring and appreciating Dingle?  Where to stay? If we take the ferry on to the Kilrush area does anyone have any suggestions for places to stay for the night?  Should we do Loop Head?  The next day it is off to see Cliffs of Mohr and ending our staying in Ennis.  What do you think?  Our plane departs at 11: 00 am on the Monday the 24th.


   Please help me with your suggestions.  Thanks!!

Please note that I edited your comment to get rid of a whole lot of blank space with nothing in it at the end of your post. It took up a lot of room. I did not change anything else.


You are correct that it takes around 2 hours to drive from Shannon Airport to Killarney. Most people stop in Adare since it is right on the main road and you go right through it. The row of thatched cottages is cute and makes for good photos. Otherwise, there is not a lot of interest on the way.


Killarney to Dingle is about 1 1/2 hours. Heaton's is excellent. If you want a splurge try Emlagh House. I also like Clooshmore House, Tower View, Dunlavin House, Emlagh Lodge and Fiuise.


From Dingle to the ferry is probably a little less than 2 hours (depending on your route). You can easily take the ferry and see Loop Head on that day. I recommend Hillcrest View in Kilrush.


I think you need to spend your last night closer to the airport than Ennis. You should probably leave a Bunratty B&B by no later than 8:30. If you are in Ennis you have traffic congestion and a longer trip to the airport.

Thanks Michele for the editing job because I have no idea how I added alot of blank space.  Thanks even more for your opinions and suggestions.  Hopefully your book will arrive this week and I can pin down my final choices.  Anyone else out there have strong feelings or suggestions for my itinerary?
