Can You View This?

I appreciate the feedback. Trying out new software. There are always glitches.

Where the photos are on each page should automatically scroll through various pictures. I guess you are not seeing that? You only see the one photo?

How about on this page: http://www.joyrockside.com/location.html Do you see little arrows below the map? Can you click on them and see different pictures? Can you click on the middle button to start a slideshow?

As you said, all I see on most pages is a single, fixed picture.  On the MAP page, I can see the arrows, but when I hover the mouse over them, a 'loading' "swirl" appears and I'm unable to 'click' anything.

Just ONE of the reasons why I never developed an interest in building web sites ...  biggrin biggrin

Yeah, pretty much what Judy said.

I also tried it with my Ultrabook, which runs Windows 7 and got the exact same results.  FYI -- BOTH computers are running Internet Explorer 10 ...

Hi Everyone,

Just wondering if you can view the moving picture slideshows on these pages:

http://www.joyrockside.com/

http://www.joyrockside.com/interior.html

http://www.joyrockside.com/breakfast.html

http://www.joyrockside.com/sightseeing.html

I am assuming that those without Java cannot see them?  confuse

I'm finding the site fine, but NO movies.

Operating Windows 8 and Internet Explorer, FYI.

Thanks for the feedback. I will have to research the problem. It works on the 5 different computers, laptop and tablet that I've tried with IE, Mozilla and Google Chrome. My husband thinks it has to do with enabling Java. I found it in IE:

Tools/Internet Options/Advanced Tab/Put check in box for Java (Sun)

I just unchecked mine, cleared my cache and the slideshow still works. Agggh!

Okay. I used the same software on my website. Can you see the moving slideshow on these pages or just one photo?

Beginning to think I have a problem on my hands. no Makes me wonder what we see and don't see online.

I'm getting the exact same reaction as Bob.

I am assuming that when you click the middle button you get the swirl? Can you click the right or left arrow buttons to get the other photos to view?

Pulling my hair out! I think it depends on browsers, etc.

As soon as I go to the box with the arrows I get a swirl. Moving to right, left or center makes no difference. If I leave the box the swirl stops.

Yes, I get an enlargement from any and every one.

There was a time when I was fluent (or, at least, FUNCTIONAL) in Basic, Unix, VMS. RSX11 and QNX, but Windows made me lazy and then stupid.  I probably remember less about programing then I do the ALM Level 1 French from Msssr. Cote's class some 40+ years ago . . .

And, that is NOT much -- Trust me!  cry cry

No problem.  I'm glad to help.

I revisited the Joy's web pages and see that the 'scroll' arrows are now gone from beneath the map -- I DID see the 'Go To Gallery' link.

On the 'Interior' and 'Reservation' pages there are nasty 'overlays' showing now ???  Also, a small one, on the 'About' page -- top, left-hand corner.

I removed the arrows from under the map. Will try another upload to get rid of the ghost images. Perhaps clearing your cache will get rid of them?

I have them on a 4 second delay. I'm going to try a photo gallery page instead. I will have to see if that works for those who can't view slideshows.

Hate to say it, but the upper left picture scroll nicely ...

Is that a BAD thing?

Trying something else. A photo gallery was added. Hopefully you can see the thumbnails. BIG QUESTION: Can you click on the photo and get an enlargement pop up?

Bob, That gives me more info for tracking down the problem. Too bad I'm not a website wiz. I do my best but I don't know HTML.

YES!    Glad that works. That is my work around fix.

Technology changes so fast. I am feel I'm bordering on illiterate when it comes to computers. The web hosts love me when I try to upload the websites.

Thanks for testing the site Bob. Very much appreciated. biggrin

Yar, cleared my 'temp' internet files and then revisited and the 'ghost overlays' were gone.

I can see all of the photos in their slideshows just fine. Works perfectly for me on all of the links. I'm using Firefox, if that helps. Great photos! If my accommodations weren't already booked for my upcoming trip, your photos would sell me on this B&B. :)

Good to know someone can see the slideshows. I think it just depends on the browser and perhaps settings. Now that I have added the "Photo Gallery" I think I have all the bases covered. Joy's is a very nice B&B. I love the location - quiet yet in town.

Their website was an experiment and a learning experience for me. I wanted to try the software with a little website before tackling mine.
