Welcome to the forum & congratulations on your upcoming anniversary. Do you know yet what your entry city into Ireland will be? In May Killarney, Dublin and Galway would make good bases for doing day tours. Killarney is the smallest town and very walkable if you choose a hotel or guest house near the town. There are also jaunting car rides to take you out to Muckross House and Killarney National Park. Dublin and Galway are busy cities.
Hi - found this site whilst looking for a holiday in Ireland. I would like to organise a 7/8 day holiday in May 2014. We are both in our 70's and would really just like a quite holiday with the opportunity to visit several 'sites' in Ireland. I don't particularly want to drive - so an organised tour is preferred but I am not sure of the best places to aim for. We both enjoy folk music but are restricted to only walking short distances.
Any practical advice would be welcome - thank you.
Hi Michelle - thank you for your response. You have a great site here with lots of helpful suggestions. I suspect that we may have to fly to Dublin from here in the South West of England. Now that you have given me some ideas, I have a starting point that I can pursue. So thank you once again. Tony M
If Killarney appeals look into flying into Kerry Aiport, which is about 10 miles from Killarney. Otherwise trains go there from Dublin. You can look at my transport page for more. Also check Deros tours.
