How does this pacing look...?

I'm reading Michele's book and consulting a map. How does the pacing of this draft itinerary sound? And specific suggestions of what to do are welcome. (I will arrive in Dublin around 8AM on a Tues. so we have two days in Dublin, but only one night I think.)

Night 1- Dublin (I want to see the museums, go down Grafton St., Temple Bar area, but also see Guinness storehouse, and St. Patrick's. I am thinking of staying somewhere on Fitzwilliam, close to the museums. I need to have lodgings with parking for the rental car. I don't plan to drive much in Dublin.) I want to do the hop on hop off bus tour too, maybe!

Night 2 & 3- Kilkenny. One day around Kilkenny and one in Waterford. (Do Waterford on day 4, then on to Cork before lodging for night 4.)

Night 4 & 5- Killarney. See Cork, Blarney, Castlemagner, Ring of Kerry... (Is this too much?)

Night 6 & 7- Limerick/Shannon area. We fly out of Shannon in the AM after night 7, so I don't want a long drive to the airport...

Hope that makes some sense. THANKS ALL!

Creativitychick,

It looks pretty good. What do you want to do for 2 days in Limerick/Shannon? Instead you might consider 3 nights in Killarney. Then you could do Dingle.

I don't really know what to do in Limerick/Shannon;just want to be close for our early departure from the Shannon airport on our last morning.

If we are only in that area one night, is there a good castle to stay in in around there? I would like to stay in a castle at least one night on our trip- but it looks like only Dublin and Shannon will be our single night stays...

Creativitychick,

Nearby Shannon are Dromoland Castle & Glin Castle. Go to my "Castle" page to click through to their sites.

Looks pretty good. Depending on how many museums you are trying to see, I'd say you should prioritize your Dublin attractions, because although you can fit them all in, you might not be able to truly experience them if you are trying to pack in too much. Grafton St & Temple Bar will be easy things you can "catch" at your leisure.

The Hop On/Off bus is a great way to see the city. They do have stops at Guinness and St. Patrick's and the Museum of Modern Art, so it could be a viable form of transportation for you. If I remember correctly, the ticket is good for 24 hours, so you could use it on afternoon #1 and morning #2.

I agree that adding a third night in Killarney and finishing off with a castle stay near Shannon would be a great idea.
