Staying in Carlingford

We are going back next March, and normally when we fly into Dublin, we either stay near the city the first day or go no greater distance than Kilkenny or Wicklow.  This time we are thinking about heading north, and with that in mind, I wondered if anyone could give me some feedback on what a first day's stay in Carlingford would offer?  It looks wonderful, and it is an area I have not been to.  What would there be to do that afternoon to keep us active for a few hours?  Good pubs there?  Places to eat? Also, any good B&B recommendations?

Thanks! smile

Geno

Geno -- I began my month-long, October of 2012, Retirement Tour   http://ireland.activeboard.com/t51514087/commentary-on-the-retirement-tour/

with two nights in Carlingford at a terrific B&B that is one of Michele's picks:  http://www.beauforthouse.net/ .

LOTS to see/do along the way there -- even if Round Towers aren't your thing!  biggrin  biggrin

The B&B looks nice, and the site has one thing I always look for "a short walk to town."  I will look into this.

Thanks Bob!
