About 5 years ago I stayed at Atlantic Shores B&B and it was lovely. The rooms were very comfortable and the breakfast was amazing. The hostess, Maggie was very kind and certainly made you feel welcome. It was close to town - I believe it was withing walking distance but can't remember. I was with my Mom at the time and we seemed to drive everywhere. I just checked and it still gets great reviews. I think you would really like it

Appreciate the information. It is a wonderful village, I just haven't stay there before and haven't seen any reviews.

Some friends of mine stayed at the Maritime Hotel and liked it. But rooms facing the road were extremely noisy. Unfortunately I don't have a B&B rec in Bantry.

Geno -- What (where) else is on the agenda? Where are you coming from / heading to, before and after Bantry?

Will land in Dublin, and drive to Birr the first night. (Going to Clonmacnoise and Kilbeggan tour to stay awake for part of the day).

From Birr to Doolin for two nights. Probably take a big part of the day going through Lough Derg area on the way there. We have someone with us again who wants to see some graves of great grandparents we found last time outside of Ennistymon.

From Doolin to Dingle for five nights. We have a self catering cottage rented. Will be there for St. Patrick's Day.

From Dingle to Bantry for one night.

From Bantry to Killenny for one night. Will stop at either Cahir or Cashel along the way.

From Kilkenny to Dublin Airport area for one night. Will stop at Rock of Dunamanse again -- others with us have not seen it. Get to hotel noon or so, check into hotel and take bus to Dublin for the afternoon and dinner, return back to airport hotel that evening.

Fly home at noon the next day.

I've been to all the places we are going before, but since we have three people with us who are making their first trip, there on things on the list that I know they will enjoy. We enjoy Dingle and the area around it, and having been in the town for STPDay before, it's quite fun!

That's the plan for now ... some changes can always be considered, and usually are!
