After leaving Galway, we are headed to the Giant's Causeway and are looking 1. for a place to stay in between (we were thinking maybe Sligo, but wonder if you have other suggestions) and 2. what sights we should see along the way.
Think I might have already answered this elsewhere~? http://goo.gl/xrDQtD has some points of interest along the coastal route. Its a lot of ground to cover in just 2 days.

I will be in Galway for 4 weeks working. It will be late July when we leave Galway headed back to Dublin for the trip home, but we planned for a few days to head north. I think we are going to head to Connemara for a weekend if you have any B&B or things to see recommendations for that area (I will search the other posts as well). I think Sligo looks lovely, and not too far of a drive that first day. Thanks you sincerely for your help.
Sligo is lovely and there is a lot to do around the area such as Parke's Castle, Gleniff Horseshoe Drive, Strandhill beach and seaweed baths, Rosses Point, Lissadell House. I always enjoy staying at Iorras B&B.
Connemara: Kylemore Abbey, Killary Harbor Cruise, the national park, Dog's Bay, Sky Drive, Clifden. Sea Mist and Quay House are nice places to stay.
Accommodation in Clifden is generally good there is only a couple of places I wouldn't recommend, Personally we try to book Dun Rí but it is becoming more difficult to get in there.
If you need any help for your Galway stay then feel free to ask in open or as a message, not much help for the city as we only visit with guests, being an hour east of the city.
