Do you recommend a GPS for driving around Donegal/Sligo area to see Slieve League, the Horseshoe Loop, Beleek, Bundoran? If so, how do I access one? Rent? Will a GPS from here work internationally? (without having to hire the Geek Squad to help me figure it out.)
I personally have done just fine in that region without a GPS. Was not hard to find anything. Have used a GPS on a trip or two also, so it basically is whatever you feel comfortable with. I usually just go the map route if I have a navigator with me who can do that while I drive.
Also most of the GPS units require a separate chip for Europe or a given country. I have borrowed one when I have taken a GPS from this end.
Bottom line if you want to save the expense is that you really don't need one -- and if you get lost now and then, that's part of the fun!
If you are up there, would also suggest a stop at Nancy's Pub in Ardara. What a great place with old world charm.

If you have a Michelin 712 that will have roads your GPS thinks are fields. Not much has changed in Donegal road wise for years although signs have got better. If you have an android phone with Google maps that should sort any dodgy junctions.
