Ring of Kerry

Hello

We will be in Dingle for 1 night and then heading towards the ring of kerry.  From Dingle , how is the best way to get to the ROK?  When I look at a map it looks like Killarney?  And do you circle around?  I guess what I am asking is what is the best way to see the ROK?  Where to stop?

And any suggestions on where to stay after as far as location and B & B's.  A bit confused looking at the map.

Thanks!!

jeannie,

The Ring of Kerry is the Iveragh Peninsula and it is the one just below the Dingle Peninsula. If you are starting in Dingle you don't necessarily have to go into Killarney to start. You could go from Castlemaine down to Kilorglin and circle on the N70. The drive does take most of the day. You can choose to do it as a day trip and end in Kenmare or Killarney or you can choose to stay on the peninsula. Most people do it as a day trip, but there are charming out of the way places to explore on the ring that you will get to see if you do decide to overnight there.

In my book I have a detailed tour of the ROK as well as a recommended place to stay. I also have info on the Skellig Ring and other interesting things to see and do. Harbour View is a nice B&B just outside Cahirciveen.
