Thanks for the programing alert. I wish I could see it. Maybe it will be on PBS or another channel also. How was the show? It sounds enchanting and Glendalough is one of my favorite places.
It was a 1/2 hour show. Great arial views of the land and valley showing the 2 lakes. I was looking for Wicklow Gap that we drove on the next morning on our way to Kilkenny. I think the show was a little dated because the wooden walkway, that is their now, could not be seen near the Roundtower/cemetary area. It gave good. info on St. Kevin and actually visited the cave, 30 feet off the ground that he supposedly stayed in at upper lake.
A side note. When we had bought take away (I think that is the Irish term) food at the parking lot there, the clerk informed us that a week prior, a tourist woman died trying to visit the cave by climbing down from the top of the steep hill. That was sad to hear.
Thanks for the update on the Glendalough show. It does sound like it may be an older program. Unfortunately there are accidents like that every year, not only at Glendalough but at the Cliffs of Moher and elsewhere. I think that sometimes people get a very brave view of their vacation when viewing it thought the lens of a camera or camcorder. It is sad but accidents can and do occur anywhere.
