Bob:
It sounds like you are in the area we will be visiting when we next travel to Ireland. Your schedule sounds pretty laid back! That is good, since it took us 2 days this week just to rest up from our 4 week trip!
Michele: the sat-nav is a god- send. Esp for roundabouts. BUT it does help to have an avid paper map reading person along to keep the English sounding woman from leading you astray! Lol. We laughed numerous ones at some of the pronunciations! Although we have found some pretty interesting stuff off-the-beaten-path! Did you get lifetime updates? It was the best 139 Euros I ever spent in Ireland!
Dan
While I was there, Argos was offering a Tom Tom GPS for 119 Euro, although the best current price posted online is for 139 Euro. I believe it was the 5" screen unit. It came with lifetime maps of Ireland, UK and Europe. I almost 'bit the bullet' as my phone GPS acted 'wonky' the whole trip!
Guess I should have opted for that Complementary, Free Unit from Dooley, after all!!!!
We had about four days of rain, about the same of true sunshine and the rest were mostly cloudy with occasional 'soft' moments . . . Daytime temps MOST days were in the low-to-mid 50's F and we only had one morning that had a light frost -- although it was predicted to be turning significantly colder after we departed and it appears to have done just that. I've seen a number of reports and pictures of snow in the past few days.
