Have you verified availability for Partial week stays? confuse

With three 'adult-sized' and two children passengers, you'll need a 7 passenger people mover to have room for luggage and have some comfort and that can be pricey, so you might make that decision about the tour members early on.

Renvyle would be a bit isolated and quite a long haul from Killarney in one day, so that would severely limit seeing much of County Clare or Shannon Region unless you added in at least one over-night. It's possible to visit a bit of the Connemara from Tulla, but not for any in-depth touring. If you have two full weeks, perhaps you could do both?

Blarney could be visited enroute to Killarney, saving a day trip later. If you visit Powerscourt and Glendalough from Dublin, you could see the Rock of Cashel on the way TO Kilkenny.

Great tips thank you! No I didn't even think about seeing if they did partial stays. I'll definitely find that out so I can plan accordingly. I wasn't sure if two weeks was long enough to see everything and go to Renvyle so I might pass on that. I want to explore the Shannon region and Killarney.

I suspect that the time-shares would be for a week at a time. But do check on it. You never know. If your main focus is the Shannon/Clare and Killarney regions then plan on them and fly into and out of Shannon. Such a nice easy airport. Skip Dublin this time and do it on another trip. If you are like most first-time visitors to Ireland, you will return again!

Thanks Michele, emailed all the places we are considering. My hubby wants to try and make a loop from Dublin to Tulla, so we will cut Connemara out this trip and plan it for the next one. We'lll have 2 full weeks to make the loop depending on what the timeshare places say. If they require a week at each place then I'll have to decide on 2 base points.... hopefully they will get back to me soon .

Another thought. Even if they require a week's stay you could always leave a little early, perhaps do 5 days instead and throw in a couple of B&Bs.

That's a good idea, thank you. We basically are only going to have to pay an exchange fee for each 7 day week, which is about the cost of 1 or 2 nights maybe, so that would work well. So far I have only heard back from the one in Dublin. They said they normally do from sat to sat but because we were booking through a timeshare it could be a shorter stay. They said to find out through the timeshare place and see what they would do. So I'll have to contact them and see.

Something else to consider:

I assume you are using 'Banked Weeks' for the Time Share 'Swap' -- If so, you might only want to use up two of those and 'flesh out' the interim period with a few nights in a Hotel, B&B or Apartment. It wouldn't be that much more if you are currently paying the equivalent of two night's stay PLUS a 'Banked Week'.

You could book a week o in Dublin and another in either Clare or Galway, but only stay 4 or 5 nights in each and then pay to stay in the Killarney area. At the end of May, beginning of June you might be able to book a 'short stay' self-catering -- since it is still 'shoulder season'.
