we are family of 4 kids are in college 18,20 planning our first trip to Ireland. We wiil arrive at Shannon airport on May 12 and will fly out from Dublin on May 21st. My plan is to go to Galway for 3 nights, killarney 3 nights and Dublin 3 nights. Should i add Dingle to our itinenary amd make 2 nights to Galway, killarney , dingle and 3 nights dublin? After reading all post getting confuse about Dingle. Also not sure about my order should i go Shannon to Galway firts or Shannon to Killarney first.
I wouldn't carve out two nights for Dingle on such a short trip. Dingle town is only 1 - 2 hours drive from Killarney, depending on stops along the way.
Remember that the drive from Galway to Killarney (or, the reverse), will likely take the better part of one day, taking into account SOME of the typical tourist stops along the way -- Cliffs of Moher, the Burren, Bunratty Castle, Limerick City and Adare, to name just a few. If you did 2-2-2, at least ONE of those destinations would be short-changed, in my opinion.
I think that driving up to Galway on Arrival day makes the most sense as it's a shorter drive after an over-night flight.

Welcome to the forum. I would keep things the way you have them with 3-night stays in Galway, Killarney and Dublin. All of those places make good bases from which to do day trips. And as Bob suggested, Dingle can be a day trip from Killarney.
The drive from Killarney to Dublin will take a day especially if you plan on sightseeing along the way. I'm thinking the kids might want a stop at Blarney Castle, then you could stop at the Rock of Cashel, before arriving in Dublin in the evening. There is also Cahir Castle and the Swiss Cottage (in Cahir) on that route but there is probably not time for them.
