Well, I'll tell you! Spiddal is Caladhgearr Thatch Cottage: http://www.irelandbedandbreakfast.biz/caladhgearr/index.asp or, go to http://www.townandcountry.ie click on Full Accommodation Search, choose County Galway, Town Spiddal Connemara, click Search and then click on An Caladh Gearr. She doesn't seem to have her own website.
and Ennis is Eden Hill http://www.bed-breakfast-ennis.com/
I would stay in either of these spots again. The thatch cottage is tiny and quaint; just three rooms all pine panelled and a cozy lounge where we sat in our jammies (we had all three rooms so no other guests) in front of a peat fire and drank Bailey's. And it is very convenient to Galway and Connemara.
Eden Hill is a working farm just south of Ennis so it is convenient to Bunratty and Shannon. We stayed there our last night, drove into Bunratty that night for the Castle banquet and then the next morning to Shannon for departure. Of all the places we stayed, this one is memorable for having all the amenities: TV, shower caps, soap, shampoo, hair dryer, etc. And again, those ground floor rooms were most welcome after 10 days of touring. It is very convienient to the road to Shannon; no need to drive into Ennis at all if you don't want to.
