Michele, I'm so excited, my passport came in the mail yesterday. It's the first one I've ever had. I actually applied for it on St. Patrick's Day so it's extra symbolic! I just wanted to know if you've sent my book yet, sorry to bug you, but that passport just got me really ecstatic and now I can't wait to read your book! My dream is starting to shape up to be a reality!
Oh, Deborah, I'm so happy for you. The day my first passport arrived was one of the highlights of my life. It's like a magic portal to all sorts of adventures. I have a newer one, but the first one will always have a special place in my heart.
Fantastic! You are now a member of the world traveler's club. I have had many passports over the decades and I save the old cancled ones as a diary of where I have been and when. Having one is like having access to a magic carpet that will whisk you wherever you want to go.
My book came back from the printers on Monday and I mailed it on Tuesday to everyone who pre-ordered. Look for it very soon. I hope it helps you with your trip.
That is exciting! When we got ours I felt like we'd gotten our membership cards for an exclusive club. Now that I've read Michele's post I know that it was the world traveler's club
Thank you all for your wonderful welcome to the world travellers club, it's nice to know others know how exciting it is, especially fellow Ireland lovers! This has been my dream for as long as I can remember. I don't know why it's taken me so long to actually do it (I'm 42), but like they say "Good things come to those who wait". And it does feel like a portal to the magical world beyond has opened up! Thanks again fellow travellers and thanks Michele for sending the book that's going to send me over the moon!
You are so right -- it is like a magic portal! I asked myself the same questions two years ago ---why did I wait so long?! I, too, had dreamed all my life of "going home" to Ireland, but I waited until I retired (silly me!) to treat myself to the trip. So see, you're ahead of where I was on making the journey!
However, I'm making up for lost time! If things work out right, this will be my third trip in three summers!! Who'd of thunk it?!
