Hi again, all! So, we have a snag in our itinerary. We will be in Killarney on a Thursday evening and two people in our party will be flying out of Dublin at 1:30pm the next day. We've heard about buses (but don't the buses stop all along the way?) but we're not sure if there will be one early enough to get them to the Airport by 11:30ish for check in. Someone mentioned trains...? We've never done that, so not sure if it's do-able in the time frame. The more likely option is that we will all get up early Friday morning and drive them to Dublin. If so, what's the best and fastest route to take? I've heard all about new roads and quicker options but haven't driven this particular direction before. So...what's the best way to get our friends to Dublin airport by 11:30am if we're starting out in Killarney? Thanks for any help and details you can give. Normally, we'd be a lot closer to Dublin the night before, but we'd really like to be in Killarney on that Thursday night. Help!
The quickest way from Killarney to Dublin will be a flight from Kerry Airport, which is a few miles from Killarnry. If the flight from Dublin is to tbe US or Canada at least three hours is needed in advance of the flight. www.kerryairport.ie
If they are willing to make an EARLY start, the train departs Killarney at 6:29 AM on Friday and arrives at Heuston Station at 9:28. From there, the #747 Express bus leaves every 10 minutes and takes about 45 - 50 minutes.

Driving to the airport from Killarney will take a MINIMUM of 3 1/2 to 4 hours (and, as many as 5 1/2 -- if traffic is heavy). With the requirement of being AT the airport 3 hours early for US-Bound, Direct flights (and even 2 hours, for intra-Europe), I would STRONGLY urge you NOT to attempt a Friday morning 'Dash' to drive them.
