what is a "drying room"

okay, this might be a really stupid question. But some of the b&b's say "we have a drying room for our guests use", and I'm wondering if this is another word for laundry room. Or maybe some place you can hang up stuff to dry. Or maybe something even more obvious and I have no idea.

RE: what is a drying room

China Cat,

A drying room is in many cases a large closet where the hot water heater is. Because the water heater is in the closet it is very warm inside and those who have been outside fishing, golfing, hiking, etc. in the rain can then hang their clothes in the drying room to dry out quickly.

Hi China Cat,

Just something to keep in mind: Some places will refer to it as a drying room, others as a press. Either way, it's all the same - exactly what Michele described.

China Cat,

Remember, there are no stupid questions. If you need to know then it is important. There are many terms used in Ireland that are not common here. So ask if you want to know.
