What to bring my hosts from USA?

Hello,

I'll be staying with hosts through AirBNB. I'd like to bring them a little thank you gift from America. Are there American candies or drinks that are hard to get in Ireland that my hosts might like? I've considered Reese's peanut butter chocolate cups or American bourbon. Thanks for any ideas!

Lindsay

Welcome to the forum.

It is really not necessary to give a gift to your hosts. You are paying to stay there. It is not like you are staying free at your aunts house. Would you give a gift to the hotel manager or bellboy? See more here: http://irelandyes.com/irish-bandb-etiquette.html

I agree with that. Been to Ireland many times and have never done that. You aren't a guest, you are a customer. Do what you feel like, however there is no reason to feel like this usual practice. Plus with most Air B&B agreements now you are being charged a rather large "cleaning fee" on top of the price of the rental. Just go enjoy the stay and don't worry about bringing things with you to leave in the room.
