My adult son and I will be traveling to Ireland March 12-19, 2020.  Our hotels are booked as follows:  night 1 Killkenny, 2&3 Ennis, 4&5 Sligo and night 6 in Dublin.  Since this is our first trip can you provide ideas of what not to miss?  We will be there for St. Patrick's Day (though not in Dublin) and  I have Cliffs of Moher and Blarney Castle on the list but would love to know sights to see that are off the beaten path.  We don't mind walking and from all the reading it sounds like it will be wet weather mainly so we'll prepare for that.  I just want to make this a memorable trip (which I know it will be).  Thanks in advance!

Welcome to Michele's Forum!  I MOVED your post to the correct location so that you might receive better input.   

Blarney appears to be an 'Outlier' as it is NOT close to ANY of your listed destinations, so it will likely need to be 'dropped'.  A decent alternative would be Bunratty.

Will you be renting a car?   What made you choose those particular destinations?  I ask, as you are NOT including Killarney / Dingle, nor Galway / Connemara in your available route -- and BOTH are typical, 'First Timer' destinations.

There are PLENTY of sites along your proposed route, however -- although knowing what TYPE of sites most appeal to YOU would be helpful.

I assume you are flying into and out of Dublin. As Bob mentioned Blarney really does not fit into your itinerary. Do you have a connection to Sligo? Please let us know what sorts of things you are interested in seeing.

If interested in scenic drives - and if you get decent weather - I recommend Gleniff Horseshoe Drive, which is a little north of Sligo.

I personally like the simplicity of your trip. As Bob said, knowing a little bit about why youve selected those areas/towns could be helpful in making recommendations.
