advice with itinerary

My wife and i will be going to Ireland for two weeks in July.  was wondering if you could give me advice on the trip.  Fly into Shannon and drive to Cork where we will stay two nights.  Visit Kinsale and cobh.  Then drive to Kenmare which we will stay two nights.  Visit Killarney and ring of kerry.  THen drive to Dingle and stay two nights as well.  Travel north to Doolin and stay two nights visit Cliffs of moher.  Then off to Reccess where we have reservations at Ballynahich for two days.  Then to Galway for two nights and ending up our trip at Bunratty for one night.  Do you think after all the traveling and sights we will be seeing that it is worth driving the ring of kerry.  Not sure if i want to drive in traffic for seven hours or do you reccommend taking a tour so we don't have to drive.  Also am I better off going to aran island when i am in Doolin, galway or Reccess.  Thank you for and help and reccomendations that you can offer.

Kevin,

It sounds like you have a nice trip planned. When in Kenmare instead of fighting the crowds on the Ring of Kerry, I highly recommend the Beara Peninsula. It is equally as scenic without all the tour buses. Gleninchiquin Park, Derreen Gardens and Healy Pass are highlights. If you are brave enough you can take the cable car out to Dursey Island.

Do the Aran Islands from Galway. Doolin ferries are very dependent on seas and weather. The Galway ferries go most of the time. You also have an option of flying. The tourist office in Galway can assist you with your plans.

Sounds like a good plan Kevin.

Great choice on Ballynahinch.  My wife and I loved it there.  Make sure to visit the village of Roundstone (about 8 miles south of Ballynahinch on R341.  O'Dowds Pub/Restaurant is in Roundstone and has outstanding food.  From there, before it gets dark, drive along the coastal route R341 from Roundstone all the way to Ballinaboy.  Then you can take the little travelled yet hauntingly scenic bog road back to Ballynahinch.  Basically right after you to through Ballinaboy make sure to bear right at the fork instead of heading towards Clifden.  This will take you across a desolate road about 7-8 miles long right through the Roundstone Bog with a great view of the Twelve Pins Mountain range to your left.  Just awesome!  And the road ends just a couple miles south of Ballynahinch.

So many other scenic drives in the Connemara area too.  You will be amazed.
