Too full a day?

As our trip is less than 2 months away, we've been doing some fine tuning on our itinerary.  It seems the more places I read about the more I want to see!  Originally we had planned on the Cliffs and the Burren and then on to Salthill one day.  Well it turns out that we decided to stay in Spiddal the night before our castle stay instead, which I think will work out alright.  My question is this: on the day of our Bunratty banquet at 8:45 we are going to the folk park before and I reserved to be there for 3:00(reservation in order to get our discount), if I changed that to 4:00 or 5:00 do you think we would have enough time to do the Burren and the Cliffs in the same day?  That way we could maybe take it slower on our way to Spiddal?  Any advice is appreciated!

Deborah,

I have read your message about 6 times and I have to admit that I am still confused. On the day you are attending the banquet where are you coming from and where will you be spending that night? Please help un-confuse me!

Sorry bout that!  We are staying at Bunratty lodge our first and second night.  The banquet is on day 2.

Deborah,

So you are thinking of taking a day trip from Bunratty to the Cliffs of Moher and Burren, returning to Bunratty for your tour and banquet? In order to have time to explore the folk park I would suggest you be back at 3 on the dot. They close the park around 5-ish to prepare for the banquets. If you arrive at 3 you will have 2+ hours to tour the castle and park. That is about the minimum time needed.

Had you considered doing the cliffs and Burren on your way to Spiddal instead? That way you won't be rushed. You could do more local things so as to be back in Bunratty by 3 pm.
