Extending your trip

HI!  we are thinking on adding a week to our trip, stay 3 weeks instead of 2.  Has anyone done this, and if so how did you go about it?  I wrote to our agent and asked, and  she did say she could change our flight home; however, there would be an additional chage -- we understand this.  We just want to possibly stay 1 week longer at our cottage near Galway and verture to new places to see........thanks!

Youngka,
Sorry, I've never extended a trip before, just a comment. You mentioned you may want to travel someday to China. I haven't been to China, but many cities have sister cities in China. If you get involved w/ your local community, some travel opportunities could be waiting!

youngka,

Your travel agent will know if you can extend your stay in your self-catering place in Galway. If you can't, don't despair. You could always choose another location to rent in or you could just do a week of B&Bs.

I have never thought of this idea either and my son was even an exchange student!!!  I'll check with the chamber of commerce and see what I can get.

THANKS

THANKS     My husband, just last night, said he wants to return to Oregon and go hunting -- the week I want to extend the trip conflicts ---- however, your last idea makes me curious -- I don't mind travelling alone.  Thank you!

Sorry for deserting you!!  I took my grandson on vacation for a week!  What fun.......   I got back a note from travel agent ---- said it will cost over $1,000 to extend our trip --- most of the $1,000 was for changing our flight!  Guess we won't try it, this year.  We are thinking about going again next year, during a different month; however, not high season and going on an "open end" ticket......would that be worse??

thanks for your help!

youngka,

It looks like extending your trip is not in the cards this time. But it is great that you are thinking of another trip next year. Try May, my favorite month.

Thanks for the suggestion of May, can celebrate my BD, and Mother's Day -- and it seemed to be a good time of year in Germany.
