Just Got Back!!!

Hi Everyone,

My new wife and I just got back from our honeymoon and we absolutely loved it! We'd like to thank Michele and everyone on the forum who helped us with all of our questions. We used Michele's book every day to find good places to eat and attractions to catch. The mapping routes Michele provided worked out perfectly as well. So Thank You all!

We had so many great experiences in Ireland. They, ofcourse are too many to list...but here are a couple favorites.

Being shut in the pub - We were in a small pub in Kilrush and spent all night talking with the people there. When closing time came, the pub was closed up with us inside and we spent hours with the owner, bartender and a few locals. One elderly man sang a song to us in honor of hour honeymoon. They bought us drinks and talked to us about everything Irish and American. It was the best 'view' into the irish people we got on the whole trip.

The Cliffs of Moher - incredible

Powerscourt Gardens - absolutely beautiful!

Traditional music in Ennis - best music we saw on the whole trip. We were invited to sit with two older couples from Donegal who were on holiday. We talked all night and share drinks with them.

Dingle - incredible everything. I have to give special mention to the B&B. The Emlagh Lodge was like paradise. It is set right beside the water and has incredible rooms with a wonderful host. Maggie was so kind to us and even washed and folded our clothes after we took a dip in inch strand (yes, it was cold!) The breakfast was also amazing, as Maggie is a former chef. We plan to stay with her for a long time on our next trip.

Ring of Kerry, Wicklow Gap, Slea Head - WOOOOOOWWWWW!!!

The best part of the trip was the people. They are so warm and friendly and helpful. They will drop everything to give you directions, call you a taxi or help you carry your luggage. We can't wait for our next trip.

Thanks again,
Shawn (& Amanda)

Congratulations Shawn on your marriage and having such a wonderful honeymoon.  I wish I could get my husband to go with me there, but as he won't, I'm going with a girlfriend and we plan on having every bit of a good time as you two did!

I'm glad you all had a good time too.  I don't see how you can have a bad one....Now I just have to get back into my time zone!

Shawn,

Welcome back from your honeymoon. I'm delighted to hear that everything turned out so well for you and Amanda. We were all happy to help. Feel free to post about your travels in the "Trip Report" section when the jet-lag subsides. We have some great ongoing reports at the moment. Everyone is enjoying them very much.

It sounds like you have been "infected" by Ireland's charms and want to return again. Many of us feel the same. Till you have the time to return, you can always get your Ireland fix here!

Michele
