Great news about Westport! This is a town that is certainly deserving. We were there this summer over the 12th July and the town was packed with tourists from the US and Northern Ireland. Plus the N59 running through town had traffic backed up forever it seemed. Even with all the crowds the streets and sidewalks were clean and neat and there were flowers and flowerboxes all around. We had a wonderful 3 days - people watching in the Octagon, sitting on a bench by the canal, Hoban's, The Lemon Peel, Torrinos, Sol Rio, the Porterhouse where we had great fun with Kevin and Oclan (Matt Malloy's was just too crowded for us, but we did have a couple of pints there early one evening). Yikes, I cannot wait to go back!
