I haven't visited for awhile and saw this (Mo sheacht mbeannacht ort! -- Seven Blessings to You) on another thread by Cowboy Craic, I believe. What does it mean? Anyone know?
My Christmas cards are ordered and we chose a special picture from our trip. You can't beat Costco for the excellent prices!
Michelle, we also did a slide show of our trip for the computer and it is always going... I can't tell you how much happiness this brings to walk by the office and see our trip pictures. Ahh, it's the small things in life....
Take Care - Happy Thanksgiving and I-rish you a Merry Christmas too !
Mo sheacht mbeannacht ort is an Irish saying that is offered up to someone who has doen an excellent job, such as Michele does here. It is also used as a toast at an important life event, birth, wedding, anniversary, etc. It is translated into English as "Seven Blessings to you", which is a loose translation. Just as when I sign off with Slan Agus Beannacht (Goodbye & Blessings)
Nollaigh Maith Duit (null-ig mah gwit) (Merry Christmas),
As far as I know Bit doesn't have an Irish Translation. It is my name or rather the nickname I was given from my toddler days. It was Lilbit then but most folk just call me Bit nowadays. I find it difficult to answer to my given name of Catherine anymore.
Have a fantastic adventure! I look forward to hearing about your trip here on the boards.
